Who is Value Tel? Value-Tel is an independent telecommuncations agency. As such we shop for the very best values for our customers. We seek to provide customers with no-nonsense, low cost services and avoid plans with hidden costs or inferior quality or service.

Who is the underlying carrier for long distance calls? For Power Net Global plans the carriers are Qwest Communications, Global Crossing, Touch America and other nationally recognized carriers. Capsule Communications carries its own calls in states where regional Bell companies (RBOC) operate. In all cases calls are carried on fiber optic networks. All call quality is the same you have come to expect.
What are the main differences between each plan's billing increments? Billing increments. Capsule's Bullseye Plan offers straight 6 second billing with 6 second minimum - the best type of plan available anywhere. PowerNet Global also offers 6 second increments but the minimum call length for billing purposes is 30 seconds. Both of these plans offer excellent billing increments and for most customers these smaller increments wind up producing the most savings.
Who will bill me? You will be billed by either Power Net Global or Capsule Communications depending upon the plan you choose.
Can I pay by credit card? You will have the option of monthly billing or credit card payment.

How long does it take for my new service to be activated? Generally the process takes from 3 to 10 days. Do not contact your local phone company to switch you. That might actually cause delays. You would only need to contact your local company if you have a freeze on switching carriers in effect. If that occurs you will be notified, however, if you know in advance that you have a freeze on your lines you should remove it so we can proceed with your switching without delay.
How will I know when I am switched? Dial 1-700-555-4141 to check who your long distance carrier is. Dial 1+your area code+700-4141 to check who your in-state long distance carrier is. If you are switching to PNG you will hear "Thank you for making Qwest (or Global Crossing) your long distance company". If you are switching to Capsule you will hear "Thank you for making Capsule your long distance company".
Must I switch my In State (intrastate) service too? No. You may sign up to switch only your interstate long distance carrier but most likely the In State rates are much lower than you are currently paying. You may decide to switch both long distance and In State to increase your monthly savings.
How do billing increments work? The lower the increment the better. For example, on our Bullseye plan a 72 second call (at 4.5 cents per minute) would cost cost .054. If that same call rounded to full minutes, which none of our plans do, it would round to 2 minutes or .09. Using the same 72 second call our PNG plan would cost .0588. Call prices usually round up to the nearest penny. Both our PNG and Capsule Bullseye plans have 6 second increments.
How does line quality compare? All calls, regardless of plan, are carried on 100% fiber optic networks for exceptional quality. No company offers higher quality.
Will my long distance bill still come from my local phone company? No. Your long distance charges will be billed separately or charged to your credit card if you choose that option. You will still receive a bill from your local company for the phone lines and local service.
Do PNG and Capsule credit switching fees, if any? Yes, both companies will credit the fee but with some differences.
PNG
write your PNG account number on your local phone bill (indicating the switching fee) and fax it to the PNG Customer Service Department at 1-888-715-3534 or mail to the address on your PNG bill.
Capsule
credits commercial accounts only and does not re-imburse residential accounts. If your commercial account requires a switching fee credit please email us service@value-tel.com and we will guide you through this easy process.
